Subaru In Car Screen: Kenwood FGZ204F2 Wire Ports

The old screen unit in my car was a Kenwood FGZ204F2 system. It has 4 jacks/harnesses into the back. This post is just the outcome of my Googling of what the various pins do. The pin diagrams I found, weirdly, were all on Russian Subaru/ car forums:

The plan is to use some of the pins to reinstate some of the functions of the old system by wiring them in the Arduino. But first I have to work out how they work. I will populate the tables as and when I work out if and how I can use the pins.

Sticker on my unit.

The jacks I have on the back – I’ll connect the pins into Arduino at some point.

Jacks #1,# 2 and #3

The Rear Camera (#4, the White one) I did not have TV tuner

Car Interface 16-pin Port (#1)

The interesting thing here is the CAN H and L pins. From what I gather this the same data that is going through the OBD2 port which also has these pins.  I thought there would be a pin for the external ambient air temp since that was displayed on the old screen. There is not, so it must come through CAN.

1+B12V?
2GND
3ACCTypically automotive accessory - the 'on switch' for the old unit?
4GND
5CAN-HCAN H & L are data protocol.
6CAN-LCAN H & L are also pins on the OBD2 port so guess data coming in here is the same
7IGNIgnition
8PARKINGHand brake? Stationary. Neutral. Maybe nothing as my car is manual.
9REVERSEThink this goes poitive when car in reverse...for reversing cam
10SPDIf this is speed, weird that its been given own pin, isolated the CAN data
11ILL(PWM)Illumination? PWM not sure
12ILL(SMALL)Ditto - something to do with backlight
13NCNot used
14NCNot used
15PTTNo idea
16GND

Navigation Unit 13-pin Circular Port (#3)

To do, maybe, probably will ignore this.

Rear Camera 4-pin Port (#4)

To do, maybe, probably will ignore this and replace with USB camera.
